Experience firsthand the history and culture of Peru. See the sights of historic Lima – visit the Cathedral, the San Francisco Convent and the oldest colonial mansion in Lima, Casa Aliaga. Then, fly to Cusco and spend three nights at 11,000 ft.  Explore the sacred Urubamba Valley, visit the Center for Traditional Textiles, go to the Maras salt ponds and spend a day participating in a school service project. You’ll also take the Vistadome train to Machu Picchu and spend a day hiking the ruins.

The Highlights:

  • Explore the historic center of Lima, Cuidad de los Reyes, and visit the Cathedral, the San Francisco Convent, Casa Aliaga (oldest colonial mansion in Lima) and the Larco Museum of pre-Columbian art.
  • Spend three days in Cusco at 11,000 ft.  Take a walking tour of the historic center, explore the sacred Urubamba Valley, visit the Center for Traditional Textiles and the Maras salt ponds.  On your third day, participate in a school service project in the village of Piccol.
  • Take the Vistadome train to Machu Picchu and spend the day exploring the Machu Picchu ruins.
