Educational Expeditions

Our experienced Costa Rican guides bring the wonder & grandeur of nature to life...
Our goal at EcoTeach is simple — to provide the best study expeditions to Costa Rica. EcoTeach is no newcomer to working with students and education. Since 1994 we have conducted study expeditions to Costa Rica for teachers and adults, and offered academic credit through Antioch University.

Our expeditions combine a fast pace with nearly continuous involvement in local activities. We show our participants the wonders of Costa Rica, including its varied cultures, ecological zones and animal life—plus one of the most active volcanoes in the western hemisphere.

Over 4000 people from the United States, Canada and Europe have participated in our programs.

On our turtle research and ecology expedition, students work as members of a research team helping scientists protect leatherback and green sea turtles. Groups participate in population studies, tag turtles and help transplant precious eggs to a safe hatchery area.

In addition, students work side by side with local community members, planting trees to reestablish the natural habitat of the endangered great green macaw. And we didn't leave out the fun — there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy the spectacular beauty of Costa Rica.

Culture & Ecology Adventure Expedition

Our cultural expedition visits local schools, farms and a remote Bribri Indian village. It offers a unique opportunity to meet Costa Ricans normally not connected with tourism.

Groups enjoy the music, dance, stories and cuisine of the Caribbean Coast, experience family life on a dairy farm, and see the rainforest birds and animals at their level — flying on ziplines high in the forest canopy.
